![]() Shoots fine in single and double action, sights seem to be dead on. So far, I have only put thirty or so rounds through it to check operation. I trained with a similar revolver when I was an Aircrewman in the Navy, qualifying (Expert) with a fixed sight Ruger Security Six (or could have been a Service Six), so this revolver brings back fond memories of training on a Navy Range. ![]() I like the looks of the fixed sight Rugers, the adjustable sights look like an after thought, seemingly perched on top of the frame. ![]() I have owned previously an adjustable sight, 6" barrel Security Six, which was OK, but I didn't like the long barrel, so sold it. Fixed sight Rugers became the Service Six. 357 caliber:įrom what I understand, the first year made Ruger Security Sixes (150 prefix serial numbers of which this one is) were fixed sight revolvers, the next year Ruger added adjustable sights and changed the grip frame to be more of a square butt shape, similar to Smith & Wesson revolvers. Check out my latest score from my local pawn shop, a first year of manufacture (1972) fixed sight Ruger Security Six in.
